Big Pipe Creek Music Publishing
Big Pipe Creek Music Publishing, established in the fall of 2005, is the BMI affiliated music publishing division of Mortonhouse LLC. In 2008, Golden Lyrre Music Publishing was established as the ASCAP publishing division of Mortonhouse LLC. The idea to start Big Pipe Creek Music Publishing originated over several pints of Ayingerbrau Pilsner in the Lyceum Tavern located off The Strand in London, England. The writers of Big Pipe Creek continue to remain true to the original ideas that gave birth to the concept for the company, the tradition of GREAT MUSIC and GOOD BEER!
Mortonhouse LLC is named after the Mortonhouse ship, which sailed from Rotterdam to Philadelphia in 1728. The Morthonhouse ship carried a group of German Protestant immigrants originally from the Rhineland on its 1728 voyage. Eventually, some of the members from this group of German Protestants settled down in northern Maryland and built a grist mill along Big Pipe Creek, an actual creek that can still be located in Union Mills, Maryland to this day.
