Big Pipe Creek Music Publishing

Big Pipe Creek Music Publishing, established in the fall of 2005, is the BMI affiliated music publishing division of Mortonhouse LLC. In 2008, Golden Lyrre Music Publishing was established as the ASCAP publishing division of Mortonhouse LLC. The idea to start Big Pipe Creek Music Publishing originated over several pints of Ayingerbrau Pilsner in the Lyceum Tavern located off The Strand in London, England. The writers of Big Pipe Creek continue to remain true to the original ideas that gave birth to the concept for the company, the tradition of GREAT MUSIC and GOOD BEER!

Mortonhouse LLC is named after the Mortonhouse ship, which sailed from Rotterdam to Philadelphia in 1728. The Morthonhouse ship carried a group of German Protestant immigrants originally from the Rhineland on its 1728 voyage. Eventually, some of the members from this group of German Protestants settled down in northern Maryland and built a grist mill along Big Pipe Creek, an actual creek that can still be located in Union Mills, Maryland to this day.

Big Pipe Creek Writers

  • Andrew Mrosla

Andrew Mrosla grew up in Olympia, Washington. His passion for music and composition led him to Boston College where he studied composition with composer Thomas Oboe Lee. Mrosla continued his study at the Royal Academy of Music in London, England before graduating with a BA from Boston College in music composition. Andrew's love for music brought him to Nashville where he has continued to write since 2005. Recently, Mrosla wrote the new Cracker Barrel Old Country Music Store for the 2009 advertising campaign.
  • Reed West

Reed West is one of those rare Nashville born and bred writers with poignant wit. His music has been covered by independent artists from all genres: pop, rock and country especially. Reed was the leader of the Nashville jam band "Rare Truth" from 2004 to 2006 and he has performed as the opening act for legendary Widespread Panic songwriter Jerry Joseph on multiple occasions. Typically you will find lighters in the air, couples kissing or drunk concert goers removing their shirts during the climax of his songs.
